Useless unless you want downtown only - As I am visiting Vancouver on holiday, I decided to buy this streetmap . Unfortunately it only shows a very small part of the city, and only the downtown area is shown in any detail. I do not know what the scale is, as the only scale I can find is for Stanly Park. It has two popout maps, each an unusually folded sheet of paper. If you do not flatten a map it folds back relatively easily, however, if you flatten the map, it requires a black belt in origami to get it to fold.If you are walking in the downtown area, it might be better than nothing but is totally useless as a navigational aide.
It s a no-brainer ... - What would you rather do: (a) waste more money on a large, cumbersome map of Vancouver, showing suburbs you ll never visit whilst not covering Downtown and the park in sufficient detail, that will never leave your rucksack, (b) spend less on this handy, easy-to-use and well-edited mini-collection of pertinent maps and information that will be used over and over?We chose correctly. The flower-fold system works really well provided (like all maps) you don t lend it to someone with the dexterity of a rhino wearing cricket gloves (we all know one of those). The choices of scale are spot-on. I used it to drive and park Downtown, as well as for shopping and tourism. The detailed map of Stanley Park is a nice touch and surprisingly useful, especially when arranging to meet relatives.
